The Childcare Centre was opened in January 2013 because of the recognized need by the BCIT community for childcare services on the BCIT Burnaby campus. In particular, it was recognized that those families with young children whose parents were striving to educate themselves, would not be able to attend the excellent educational opportunities provided by BCIT unless they could have childminding support for their young children.
