Children must have some responsibility of the direction in their learning. They learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening and observing.

The 2 year old program is a play based program that promotes learning through explorations. The teachers use the ‘Reggio Inspired’ provocations that promote open ended activity without any prescribed outcome.

Dundarave preschool we believe a play-based curriculum grounded in the learning principles found in the B.C. Early Learning Framework allows the child, through ‘hands on’ involvement, the opportunity to try out, experiment, experience, and learn new information not only about themselves but family, others in their community, and their physical surroundings. Through these experiences they begin to realize the relationships between themselves and the world.

We believe in fostering a child’s natural curiosity and therefore choice is an important part of the learning process. This is taught through a series of investigations based on global concepts that are child-led and teacher supported.
